It has been celebrated every year since 1863. Thanksgiving is one of the major holidays of the year. 
The "First Thanksgiving" was celebrated by the Pilgrims after their first harvest in the New World in 1621. This feast lasted three days, and it was attended by 90 Native Americans and 53 Pilgrims. 

In Canada Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October.

Supermarkets

You can find many different supermarkets in California, in all kinds of sizes. Here are three of them.

In Safeway you find food, beverages, flowers, birthday cards etc.

At Trader Joe's you find a lot of organic food.

In Costco you can find almost anything.

BART

...is a smart way to go from one place to another around the San Francisco Bay area. It is a mixture between commuter 

train (pendeltåg) and subway (tunnelbana).

BART = Bay Area Rapid Transit

             

The Mission District

In another part of San Francisco you find the Mission.

            

China Town

China Town is a well-known tourist attraction in San Francisco.

Where Market Street meets Montgomery Street.

St Mary's Square, a small park tucked in between all the skyscrapers.

Street cars are perfect if you don't want to walk up all the hills. They start and end down at Market Street and you can get on and off where ever you need. (The last picture will be clearer if you zoom in the hill.)
